Life in the Backcountry is for You
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to live outdoors?
To call anywhere your feet carry you “home”?
And have everything you could possibly need in your pack?
To rest beside a stream, or pause mid stride and observe a pika gathering flowers?
Without a care in the world besides “which vista should I enjoy lunch at” or “ I wonder what’s for dinner”?
I can tell you, honestly…
Life in backcountry is the greatest.
Exploring the wilderness on foot comes with its own unique set of challenges, though…
Accidents happen.
And we learn from them.
Eventually…
Of course, there’s also the weather to consider…
Sometimes all the sky gives us is rain.
Or wind.
Or both.
And maybe the idea of hiking in “bad” weather doesn’t appeal to you…
Yet.
I think you are going to come around.
When it’s all said and done, the weather isn’t what you’ll remember.
Instead, you’ll remember waking before dawn to catch the alpenglow
The sense accomplishment—mixed with sweet relief—that overcame you upon reaching a hard-won peak
The blissful simplicity of mountain living
The smooth rhythm of days spent walking
Most importantly, though, you’ll remember the PEOPLE you shared the adventure with!
The backcountry has a way of bringing people together.
We share our struggles and victories as a team.
When one of us encounters a challenge too great to face alone…
ALL of us show up to help!
You belong out here, in the backcountry.
But perhaps you’re worried you don’t have enough experience to survive in the wild…
Know this:
Before my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2017, I’d only been camping a half dozen times. My gear was borrowed or hand-me-downed. And I didn’t have a clue of what I was getting myself into.
And guess what…
I thrived!
I am confident you will thrive too.
The backcountry is for everyone.
And I am so excited to share the magic with you!
Are you ready to make some wild and unforgettable memories with the best friends you haven’t met yet?
She Treks aims to keep your base weight below 20 pounds, because the last think I want is for anything to get in the way of you exploring.
Say YES to life in the backcountry.
Rain or shine, it will be the experience of a lifetime!
