Vermont Long Trail
June 4, 2020 — June 17, 2020
The Vermont Long Trail is a 272 mile route which follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from Massachusetts to Canada. I completed my northbound thru-hike of the trail early summer of 2020.
I was wracked with anxiety before I began this hike. The pandemic had taken a toll on my mental health, as it had for most people, and all I could think of to do was to go to the mountains.
The first days of this hike, leaving the Massachusetts border, I had many a lonely meltdown in the woods, with no one but the ravenous mosquitos to lend an ear. By the end of my 13 day effort I felt almost like myself again.
You can read a written account of my hike under my Trip Reports.
